2013-2014 All Star Information Packet
TUMBLE WORLD ALL STAR CHEERLEADING
Tumble World, LLC strives to encourage each student to achieve their dreams and exceed their potential as a competitive cheerleader and person. Our program is intended to teach work ethic, personal and team commitment, goal setting, and leadership qualities to last for a lifetime.
Tumble World was founded by Jill Stapleton Greenhill in the summer of 2001 in Chesapeake, Ohio. She wanted to form a competitive cheerleading program for the Tri State area. With that in mind, teams were formed with only 40 cheerleaders and 3 teams in the fall of 2001. In 2005, Tumble World moved to its current location and expanded to 5 teams with over 100 cheerleaders. In 2013, Tumble World saw tremendous growth and increased to 12 all star teams and over 250 members.
Throughout the years, the dreams have achieved many goals including competing in the USASF Worlds’ Cheerleading Competition and the US Finals. With over 250 national titles the Tumble World Dreams have built a reputable program in the cheerleading industry today. With your experience as a dream, we believe that you will find your experience as a dream rewarding and beneficial program to be involved in. We will encourage many aspects to promote oneself in everyday life including but not limited to; work ethic, commitment, goal setting, and self esteem.
We offer a professional atmosphere instilling a confidence of belief in reaching a desired goal. We will set team and individual goals based on one’s opportunities to build and encourage one another. The competitive teams at Tumble World consist of members ranging from local and statewide athletes. We offer teams for ages 3 years through adult from beginning levels to the elite college level. Our ultimate goal is to make champions on and off of the mat no matter the age or level. All teams are of equal importance to the dream program beginning with tiny exhibition, special needs, through the elite teams. We strongly believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Tumble World, where our motto is “I can do all things through Jesus Christ, who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.

Methods of Safety Measure
Athlete health and safety is of utmost concern within the TW program. Our program is committed to keeping a safe environment at all times. Hydration and nutrition are and will continue to be encouraged at TW for optimal performance and injury prevention. In case of an emergency, the TW staff is properly prepared to handle the situation with an emergency plan that has been put in place. You can rest assured that your child is in safe and prepared hands.
To ensure a safe environment we require:
• certify all coaches in First Aid and CPR
• credential coaches and athletes within the USASF
• train coaching staff in effective spotting
• record and evaluate skills in proper progression
• have an emergency plan in place
• have first aid kits and emergency numbers available
• require continued education for staff
Attendance
All Star attendance at practice is strictly enforced throughout the year. For the summer season,
athletes are expected to be at tumbling unless noted on the vacation/planned calendar. As for the fall and spring season, athletes are expected to be at every practice. The only excused absence is a school function that results in a grade; school cheerleading does come first. All other absences, weddings, recitals, school/church socials, and any other non-related school activities are unexcused. If an emergency or special occasion occurs, please contact your coach as soon as possible to inform them of your situation. Absences are NOT allowed the week and weekend prior to a performance or competition. An unexcused absence may result in the athlete being moved to an alternate position or pulled from an upcoming performance at the discretion of the coach. It is the responsibility of the athlete to learn any routine changes prior to the upcoming practice. Alternates must follow all requirements and guidelines. As for competitions, attendance will be taken at the beginning, during and end of each competition day. All athletes will be given an arrival time to be present in the competition venue, meet with a team rep and/or coach, warm up time, performance time, release time and award time. If your release time is prior to your award time and you choose to leave the competition then you forfeit any prizes you may win. Every athlete is required to support all TW teams unless he/she is in warm ups. Athletes may not leave the competition without prior approval.
Policies and Procedures:
Illness: You must attend practice when you are sick. Students are often removed from our
program for failing to follow this rule and we will not make exceptions. You will not be
required to participate; however, you must be present. An athlete will jeopardize their position
if this rule is not followed. This includes dental, medical and any other health related issue that
would prohibit a student from participating.
Injury: In the event that a student is injured at home or during other extra curricular
activities, we ask that you please notify your coach as soon as possible. We will make changes
with choreography prior to practicing. We will re-choreograph routines based on the athlete’s
injury and length of recovery. Once the individual has fully recovered, he or she may
be choreographed back into the routine. All injured athletes must continue to pay
their monthly tuition.
Family Emergency: Please do not use this term lightly; however, please feel free to call your
coach and team rep in any case of emergency.
School Work: School is of high priority and TW stresses the importance of education, however;
schoolwork cannot be used as a reason to miss practice. Athletes are expected to maintain
proper time management.
Extra Curricular and Jobs: By signing the contract, the athlete and parents are aware of the
team practice and competition schedule. Extracurricular activities and jobs need to be
scheduled around the commitment to TW (the only excused absence is for school cheerleading
and/or a school activity that will result in a grade).
Travel
The TW competition schedule is available for you and your family to arrange your travel plans.
We will provide hotel blocks for each out-of-town competition; however, you are NOT required to stay at that designated hotel. Should an athlete travel with someone other than a parent or legal guardian, TW will not be responsible for your child during their travel. In case of overnight travel where a hotel is required, all hotel charges are the responsibility of the family.
New for season #13 2014 season… a block of rooms will be reserved for each competition for your convenience. You will not be required to stay at our choice of hotel, but will be welcome to if you so desire.
Fundraising Opportunities
Due to the cost of all star cheerleading we have some opportunities to make it more affordable. The Dreams All Star Spirit Club is a non-profit organization set up solely for fundraising for our athletes. Each year nomination are held and a fundraising committee is formed. Various fundraisers are available such as; MU concessions, candy bar sales, car washes, flower sales (poinsettias, fall mums, & mother’s day hanging baskets), Avon, Mary-Kay, World’s finest chocolate Easter candy, etc. All fundraising is directly given to the child who has raised it. See Jill for fundraising opportunities…

Tumble World Dreams Competitive Cheerleading Contract 2013-2014
I, the undersigned hereby certify that I am the parent or legal guardian of __________________________
(athlete). The athlete desires to participate in Tumble World All Stars competitive cheerleading programs for the 2013-2014 season. This competitive cheerleading contract sets forth the terms and conditions under which the athlete may participate in the TW 2013-2014 competitive cheerleading season.
Responsibilities of TW
TW hereby agrees to provide competitive cheerleading coaches and instruction for the purpose of teaching cheer, tumbling, dance skills and techniques to athletes in preparation for local, regional and national cheerleading competitions and exhibitions. Each team will practice one to four hours per week (as indicated in the 2013-2014 Athlete/Parent and/or Guardian Information Packet). TW cannot guarantee that an athlete will acquire any particular skill level or that an athlete will remain on the same team throughout the entire season. All TW All-Star teams are fluid, which means an athlete can be moved from one team to another at the discretion of the TW staff.
Responsibilities of Athlete and Parent/Guardian
Athletes hereby agree to attend all practices (except in a case outlined in Athlete/Parent and/or
Guardian Packet). I understand and recognize the importance of attending all scheduled practice
sessions and agree to ensure the athlete’s attendance at all scheduled practices. I understand that accepting a place on an TW Competitive Team is both an honor and a privilege and that it entails a significant commitment to TW and to fellow team members. I understand that it is imperative that each team member is present for all practices, competitions and performances and I will be responsible for ensuring that the athlete participates in all team events. I also understand that some team events will require overnight travel for me and the athlete during TW events. If the athlete misses a competition due to illness, injury or other complication, I will not receive a refund for the competition fee.
Parent/Guardian’s Indemnification of TW
I hereby give my permission to the TW staff to seek and give appropriate medical attention for the athlete during the period of practice or competition (or to/from) in the event of an accident, injury or illness. I will be responsible for any and all cost of medical attention and treatment. I represent that the athlete is covered by medical insurance. I understand that, as with any sport, injuries can occur and the athlete is physically fit and mentally capable of participating in cheer and dance activities. I represent that I have sought the opinion of athlete’s pediatrician/physician. I hereby waive, release and forever discharge TW and its staff and representatives from all rights and claims for damages, injury, or loss to person or property which may be sustained or occur during athlete’s participation in TW activities, whether on the TW training facility premises or at any other venue where an TW activity takes place, or in travel thereto or there from. I acknowledge that competitive cheerleading is an inherently dangerous sport in which I am allowing my child to participate at his/her own risk. In consideration of TW allowing me/my child a place on its competitive cheerleading team, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, assignees and personal representatives, do release and forever discharge TW, its employees, agents, officers, members, sponsors, promoters and affiliates from any and all liability, claim, loss, cost or expense, and waive and promise not to sue on any such claims against any such person or organization, arising directly or indirectly from or attributable in any legal way to any negligence, action or omission to act of any such person or organization or execution of any TW-related cheerleading event, including travel to and from such event, in which my child may participate as a team member or spectator. I expressly agree that this release, waiver,
and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Ohio.
Parent/Guardian’s Travel Responsibilities
I understand that the TW Staff assumes no responsibility to supervise or monitor any athlete’s activities or behavior during out of town events, except during the course of team activities. I will be responsible for my athlete’s activities or behavior during out of town events, except during the course of team activities. I will be responsible for my athlete during all TW events. If I cannot attend an out of town event, I will arrange for another TW parent or responsible adult to accompany my athlete to and from the event and to be responsible for the athlete during the entire event, including travel thereto and there from. If I cannot accompany my athlete to an out of town TW event, I will notify the TW staff no less than 30 days prior to the scheduled departure date for the event and inform the TW Staff of any alternative arrangements I have made for my athlete’s supervision on that particular trip. I understand that the TW Staff is solely responsible for, and retains full creative control of the placement of the athlete on a particular team and all competitive routines, including, but not limited to, the placement of individual athletes in formations, the positions of individual athletes in stunts ( e.g., base, back spots, front spot, flyer, etc.), cheer and dance sequences. I have read and signed the TW Parent/Guardian information packet. I understand that certain violations of team rules as set forth therein may result in suspension or dismissal from the TW program. In the event the athlete is suspended or dismissed from the TW program, I remain obligated to pay any amounts billed and remaining unpaid with respect to athlete’s participation up to the point of suspension or termination and I agree to pay such amounts as they become due in accordance with the provisions set forth under the caption .Financial Obligations.. I also understand that if the athlete is permanently dismissed from the TW Program for any violations of the rules set forth in the Athlete/Parent and/or Guardian information packet, TW will not refund any monies
previously paid.
